Ruwi is the old CBD and it is one of the busiest areas in
Muscat and the feeling of this area is a cocktail of lemon, blueberry and chili
where the sweet and sour tastes are balanced with an addition of hotness
provided by the chili.
That represents how Ruwi is diverse in functions and also
accessible where people can walk rather than just using vehicles. On the other
hand, with all these advantages it consequences was slightly negative; due to
the business of the highway, which is narrow, it created congestion and noise,
moreover, it is hard to cross the street to get to the other side of the road
and that created some sort of disconnection (although Ruwi as a the whole area
is connected very well and for that it created that felling that it is not
allowed to connect to the other side)
Also the area lacks elements of entertainment there is only
Ruwi cinema but it is further than our site’s area and by providing this
facility Ruwi will be almost complete in the availability of functions. Our
friend Rajan is an active, sociable and hardworking person he always hoped to
have a place where he can have some fun time with his children without the need
to use a vehicle to drive to an entertainment facility for miles. He also
mentioned that he always find some difficulty of crossing the highway as well
as some of the inner area’s streets lacks pavements to walk on and that the
streets are narrow plus cars are parking by the side which makes it
uncomfortable to walk.
To solve the highway issues a bridge or more can be built
for people to cross with ease and comfort and a multi functional building will
be placed on the site which will have: bowling center, arcade, sabla, internet
cyber and a terraced restaurants to benefit from the view of the Ruwi
